Michigan’s Great Southwest Sustainable Business Forum hosted a Green Drinks gathering at Silver Harbor Brewing Company on Wednesday, February 21.

During the gathering, Forum members spoke about upcoming events with the organization, including the March 21st Forum at Whirlpool Global Headquarters, featuring a presentations on Whirlpool’s use of smart buildings to improve energy efficiency, and on the latest incentive programs from Indiana Michigan Power. Also occurring at Whirlpool in the morning on March 21st is an energy efficiency workshop for municipalities, schools, universities and healthcare organizations presented by the Michigan Energy Office. The workshop is free for representatives from those industries.
During the Green Drinks gathering, Silver Harbor Brewing Company General Manager Ben Dahl discussed Silver Harbor buildings sustainable features, including the metal used from Padnos for the interior decorating & bar, and tables made from fallen trees in Berrien County. Silver Harbor also sources locally grown food and hops as often as possible, is moving towards composting and LEED certification.
