Michigan's Great Southwest Sustainable Business Forum (MGSSBF) 

MGSSBF's Mission is to be an information source, and force, for merging environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and economic strength.

A sustainable business is one that creates profits for its shareholders while protecting the environment and improving the lives for those with whom it interacts. 

The Triple Bottom Line
is the term that Sustainable Businesses use to measure and stay balanced between three areas:

1.  Environment:  Air Quality, Water Quality, Energy Usage, Waste Produced, etc.
2.  Social:  Labor practices, Community Impacts, Human Rights, Product Responsibility, etc.
3.  Economic:  Sales, Profits, Return on Investment, Cash Flow, Jobs Created, etc.

MGSSBF is a 501(c) 3 organization and happily and gratefully accepts donations in support of our sustainability and education efforts. Contributions may be mailed to MGSSBF, PO Box 513, St. Joseph, MI 49085.

Join us for Green Drinks with host Becky and others from around the region for great networking and conversation about all things sustainable, as well as local beer, wine, food specials, and fun. Everyone is welcome. We’ll see you there!

Traffic, Transportation Trails: What can we do about it?

Join us on Thursday, September 25 from 11:30am -1pm for a Round Table Discussion and lunch with area experts on transportation developments and opportunities.  You will have an opportunity to voice your concerns or praise for the public transportation offered in Michigan’s Great Southwest as well a take part in a discussion of what the future holds and what we can do to help. 

With speakers that included: 
• John Lindemeyer- Michigan League of Bicyclists
• Derrick James - Amtrak - Sustainability Efforts
• John Houseal- Housel & Lavigne -transit friendly spaces and Community planner.
• Gordon McKay, Indian Trails - Bus Travel
